Question:
To ask the Minister of Health for an update on the £2.5 million earmarked to mitigate the national insurance rise for General Dental Services.

Answer:
The £2.5 will be allocated to Dental Practices in proportion to the level of Health Service work they do. The payments will follow a similar schedule to Practice Allowance which is paid twice each year in November and April, based on Health Service earnings in the preceding six months.
Officials are working with the Business Service Organisation on the operational details of the proposed method of allocation. Once finalised these details will be shared with the British Dental Association in advance of the first payment.
