Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail why there has been a delay within the Education Authority in finalising the acquisition of the Strabane Grammar School site on Liskey Road, Strabane given that all necessary documentation are now in place.

Answer:

The disposal of the site was paused in late 2023 at the local Council’s request, to allow the Council to progress completion of the PAD process and to obtain the Land & Property Services (LPS) valuation.

Now that these steps have been completed and confirmed, the Education Authority (EA) will instruct LPS to recommence the disposal process whilst the Council and Clanmail seek their necessary approvals.

The EA is striving to complete the disposal and all related legalities as quickly as possible, likely early in the 2026/27 financial year.
