Question:
To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 30422/22-27 and AQW 30423/22-27, to detail whether he will progress work to create a joint scheme of management for schools.

Answer:

Article 9A-9D of The Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 1986 advises that every school must have a scheme of management approved by the Department of Education. This scheme provides for the membership of the Board of Governors as well as its functions and procedures.

Should a jointly managed community school be approved for establishment the Department will work with any such school to approve a Scheme of Management.
