To ask the Minister of Health whether menopause education programmes for women include information on differentiating potential cancer symptoms from normal menopausal changes.

Answer:

Public health information about the menopause, including both the Public Health Agency’s Sexual Health NI website and NI Direct, include common signs and symptoms to look for as well as advice about when to seek medical help. Public health information is also widely available regarding the signs and symptoms of various types of cancer, and when to seek medical opinion. Healthcare professionals are trained to identify and diagnose these conditions.
