To ask the Minister for Communities to detail any plans he has to align Northern Ireland’s building safety regime with the Building Safety Act 2022 in England, and the Building Safety Regulator.

Answer:

The Department has researched arrangements in all UK jurisdictions and in Ireland, with a view to the creation of bespoke policy and legislation to effectively regulate Residential Building Safety in Northern Ireland, subject to Assembly approval.
