To ask the Minister of Education to detail any steps being taken to ensure that young people in rural areas have equal access to safe spaces and structured youth provision.

Answer:

My department’s current policy for youth work in education, Priorities for Youth, sets out the requirement for the Education Authority (EA) to undertake an assessment of need to inform their Regional Youth Development Plan.

This assessment covers the needs of all young people including those in rural areas.
