Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail any actions his Department took with respect to implementing Article 3(1) of The Activity Centres (Young Persons' Safety) (Northern Ireland) Order 1998, while this matter fell under the remit of the Department of Education.

Answer:

The Activity Centres (Young Persons' Safety) (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 came into operation in June 1998.

Subordinate legislation was not made under the 1998 Order by my department before the transfer of responsibility for The Activity Centres (Young Person’s Safety) (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 on 1 December 1999 to the Department of Culture Arts and Leisure.

Responsibility moved to the Department for Communities in 2016.
