To ask the Minister of Health whether encompass can automatically flag if a patient is deaf and in need of a British Sign Language or Irish Sign Language translator.

Answer:

Encompass includes a flagging feature for patients or service users who require British Sign Language or Irish Sign Language interpretation. Notifications are triggered at key stages of the patient journey, such as during appointment scheduling, to alert professionals of the need for interpreter support.
