Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail how her Department is supporting those businesses in Rasharkin, Kilrea and the neighbouring area, impacted by the closure of Bann Bridge.

Answer:

Responsibility for road and bridge safety and maintenance lies with the Department for Infrastructure and I understand that Causeway Coast and Glens Council are actively engaging with Department for Infrastructure on this issue.

Invest NI has been engaging with their client businesses in the Kilrea / Rasharkin area to determine if they have been adversely affected by the bridge closure. While none of those businesses have raised concerns, I appreciate that this closure, and the lengthy diversion as a result, has caused issues and inconvenience for some local residents and businesses.
