Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail the urgent actions her Department will take to improve road safety in the vicinity of Downshire Primary School, Hillsborough.

Answer:

Road safety is a high priority for my Department and I am committed to working proactively to make our roads safer for everyone. I am acutely aware that children and young people are amongst the most vulnerable groups using our roads.

I was sorry to hear of the recent collision involving a pupil from the school and wish them a speedy recovery. I have asked my officials to arrange a meeting with local elected representatives and Downshire Primary School to discuss their concerns regarding road safety. This meeting is scheduled for 4th November 2025.
