Question: To ask the Minister of Health to detail how data collection is used to inform provision and services required for adults with special educational needs.
Answer:
My Department receives annual Statutory Function Reports from each Health and Social Care Trust. Within each report there are specific data requirements for adults with Learning Disabilities to demonstrate how statutory functions are being met. My Department uses this information to hold HSC Trusts to account for the discharge of their statutory functions and to plan and commission services accordingly. In addition, implementation of the Learning Disability Service Model will involve the introduction of a new Regional governance framework. Regional data associated with key performance indicators for people with Learning Disabilities will be routinely collated, monitored and analysed for the purpose of planning and performance by my Department.
