Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail (i) any work (a) being undertaken; or (b) planned to be undertaken, this year within the Design and Trial an Inclusive Capacity Building Programme, Special Educational Needs Transformation proposal; and (ii) the project deliverables.

Answer:

The Inclusive Capacity Building Programme is at the advanced design stage following staff recruitment. This trial is scheduled to commence in February 2026.

The Inclusion Capacity Building Programme is a whole-system initiative that aims to ensure every child and young person in Northern Ireland experiences equitable, high-quality education. It will comprise of resources, professional development in inclusive teaching methodologies and design of inclusive school environments.
