Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to detail any investigations under way to determine how a cleaning substance entered the Ballykelly River.

Answer:
The Loughs Agency led the investigation, supported by my staff. Checks of the local stormwater system, testing of foul sewers, and door-to-door checks found no evidence of pollution. The incident appears to have been caused by a short duration discharge of a domestic chemical agent that quickly passed through the system.
