Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail any engagement that has taken place between Tourism NI, Invest NI, and Cricket Ireland, to explore Northern Ireland’s involvement in the International Cricket Council Men’s T20 World Cup 2030.

Answer:

There has been engagement between officials in Tourism NI and Cricket Ireland to discuss the current status and opportunities that hosting International Cricket Council Men’s T20 World Cup 2030 games in the north may bring.

Tourism NI, along with officials from the Department for Communities, had an initial meeting with Cricket Ireland in September 2024. This was followed up with another meeting in October 2025 between Tourism NI and PR representatives acting on behalf of Cricket Ireland. Further to this engagement, Tourism NI is arranging a follow up meeting in Belfast with Cricket Ireland representatives, Tourism Ireland, Invest NI, and Tourism NI to explore the feasibility of hosting parts of the tournament in the north.
