To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 31022/22-27, to detail (i) the type of case he has referenced; (ii) which body, or statutory agency, has made this case; (iii) to whom the case has been made; and (iiii) any financial implications that have been considered as part of this case.

Answer:

The Education Authority (EA) has advised that:

An assessment of staffing pressures across the Local IMPACT Team (LIT) network and associated recruitment requirements was submitted to senior management within the EA and the department. This included an estimated additional funding requirement of approximately £3m per annum

My department submitted a bid for the SEN Reform Programme as part of the recent Budget 2026 -2029/30 process, this included additional funding for LITs.
