Question: To ask the Minister of Education to detail any provision of Relationships and Sexuality Education that will be delivered under the Executive’s Ending Violence Against Women and Girls strategy.
Answer:
Developing healthy, respectful relationships is essential to ensuring that children and young people gain the knowledge, understanding, and skills needed to make informed life choices and act responsibly in their relationships and behaviour. The Curriculum already places a strong emphasis on healthy relationships and through Relationship and Sexuality Education (RSE), schools can play a key role in addressing emerging issues from the Strategic Framework to End Violence Against Women and Girls, such as violence, misogyny, coercive control, and sexual harassment.
