Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail whether any independent body inspects the Education Authority's Education Welfare Service team responsible for parental prosecutions.

Answer:

The EA Internal Audit Team has conducted audits relating to two areas of the Education Welfare Service practice, waiting lists and school expulsions, as per the 2024/2025 Internal Audit Plan.

A further audit has been requested on court processes, and this will be included in the Internal Audit Plan for 2025/2026.
