Question:
To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 34658/22-27, to detail whether all of the children listed on tracer letters were accounted for following this measure.

Answer:

Not all children have been located.

It is important to note that the total number of cases includes children from other jurisdictions (i.e. remainder of UK and/or RoI) and in some cases it may simply be that the family has moved to the Republic of Ireland. In such cases EA undertake routine checks to confirm this.

The EA has established a Children Missing in Education post within the Education Welfare Service, funded by the Department of Education, as part of the EWS Transformation Programme (October 2025).
