To ask the Minister of Finance to detail whether his Department will raise the minimum age for marriage to 18 years old, by the end of the2022-27 mandate.

Answer:

A Marriage and Civil Partnership Bill has been drafted and circulated to my Ministerial colleagues for comment. It includes provision to raise the minimum age for marriage and civil partnership from the present 16 to 18 and is on schedule for introduction in the 2025/26 session.
