Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail the number of road gully maintenance machines her Department (i) owns; and (ii) contracts in.

Answer:

There are a total of 57 vehicles available to the Department for the purposes of gully cleaning. The Department does not contract-in gully-emptiers, rather the contract provides a gully emptying service and therefore the number of vehicles provided indicates those that are both owned by the Department or available through the contract.

It should be noted that due to required servicing and maintenance of the vehicles, not all units may be available at any given time.
