To ask the Minister of Finance to detail the number of empty homes in North Belfast.

Answer:

Land & Property Services (LPS) does not maintain a register of 'empty homes'.

The number of domestic properties (excluding Caravans, Domestic Garages, and Domestic Stores) in the Belfast North Parliamentary Constituency at 30 September 2025 that are recorded as vacant in the rating system is 965.

As rates on domestic properties is charged at 100% irrespective of whether the property is occupied or not, ratepayers may not inform Land & Property services of a property becoming vacant, therefore these figures may not reflect accurately an ‘empty homes’ position.
