Question:
To ask the Minister of Health for an update on the review of managed budgets across the Health and Social Care Trusts that currently provide them.

Answer:

My Department partnered with the Association for Real Change and IMPACT, Birmingham University, to complete a 12-month review of the current barriers to implementation of Managed Budgets in Northern Ireland. This review was completed in Summer 2025.

The review has supported engagement with key stakeholders including practice leaders within Health and Social Care Trusts and people with lived experience. The review has enabled the development of workable options with the potential to assist implementation of managed budgets across the Health and Social Care system in Northern Ireland.
