To ask the Minister for Communities to detail any steps his Department is taking to reduce waiting times for mandatory reconsiderations.

Answer:

My Department’s Disability and Carers Service is committed to improving the current timescales of mandatory reconsideration completion while also balancing the resources needed for new claim processing. Mindful of current delays, additional resources have recently been allocated to the mandatory reconsideration team to reduce customer waiting times in this area.
