Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail (i) when the Redwood facility will be open; and (ii) the reasons for its delay.

Answer:

(i) The South Eastern HSC Trust is working with the Regulation Quality Improvement Agency (RQIA) with a view to having the Redwood facility fully registered and opened by Monday 1st December 2025.

(ii) The short delay with the opening of the Redwood facility has been attributed to the completion of estates works, successful recruitment of the staff team and meeting the requirements by the RQIA following their pre-registration visit to the home on Monday 10th November. The South Eastern HSC Trust has completed the specified requirements, and is awaiting an imminent response from the RQIA to progress opening.
