To ask the Minister for Communities to detail (i) any estimate his Department has made of the total value of unclaimed social security benefits; and (ii) any steps being taken to increase uptake.

My Department does not hold this information.

My Department takes a number of steps to ensure individuals and families access their full benefit entitlements.

The Make the Call Wraparound Service (MtC) provides free, confidential needs assessments to identify eligibility for social security benefits and additional supports. Through partnerships with community organisations and government departments, MtC Outreach Officers raise awareness and offer home visits for vulnerable individuals. A comprehensive communications strategy across television, press, and digital channels supports these efforts.
