Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail when (i) the objections process will be reviewed; (ii) a consultation will be carried out; and (iii) any updates or changes will be made, as indicated in his statement on the Independent Review of the Liquor Licensing system in Northern Ireland including the Surrender Principle, on 18 November 2025.

Answer:

In my response to the Report of the Independent Review of the Liquor Licensing System in Northern Ireland, I stated that my officials will work with key stakeholders and relevant delivery partners to establish the scale of any potential problem, and if necessary, explore potential solutions. The need for consultation, any potential future changes, and the timing of such, will be determined by the outcome of that process.
