Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to outline when her Department will complete the purchase of the planned park and ride site at William Street, Newtownards.

Answer:

On 2nd October 2025 the department’s Solicitors completed the Title report and issued it to Land & Property Services. This will allow the LPS Valuer to complete the formal valuation of the land. Compensation can then be agreed between both parties. However, my officials are aware that further queries have been raised by the Council’s Solicitors, and whilst these have been addressed, they may hold up the final agreement.

On receipt of the Valuer’s Report my officials will issue instructions to complete the legal matters and make payment of the agreed compensation, including Statutory Interest and legal fees.
