Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail (i) the proportion of the £1.6 billion backlog maintenance requirement that the current £5.5 million December Monitoring bid would address; and (ii) any criteria will be used to prioritise works.

Answer:

The £5.5 million will address approximately 0.34% of the £1.6 billion backlog maintenance requirement.

As we approach the final quarter of the financial year, the capacity of the HSC Trusts and NIFRS to take forward and deliver additional funded backlog maintenance projects by the 31 March 2026 greatly diminishes due to the time available. Therefore the ability to deliver in financial year was the only criteria applied in this case.
