To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail the rationale behind her Department publishing the AI Strategic Direction document on 8 December 2025, without an accompanying press release.

Answer:

My department’s AI Strategic Direction is a ‘direction of travel’ document that gives agency to DfE business areas, partner organisations, and stakeholders, to develop a response to the recommendations in the Matrix ‘AI and the Future of Work’ Report. It has been shared widely and is available on the department’s website.
