To ask the Minister for the Economy for her assessment of the AI Pulse: Public Sentiment in Northern Ireland on Artificial Intelligence report, published by the Ulster University Strategic Policy Unit.

Answer:

I note the recent publication of Ulster University Strategic Policy Unit’s AI Pulse Report, which provides valuable insight into public attitudes towards Artificial Intelligence. The findings indicate strong awareness and a willingness to engage with AI, while also highlighting concerns around confidence, capability, trust, and ethics. This evidence will inform my Department’s ongoing work to promote responsible AI adoption and strengthen the AI skills pipeline.
