Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities whether his Department has given any consideration to a fast-track process for Disabled Facilities Grant applications from people with rapidly progressive and terminal conditions, such as Motor Neurone Disease, to avoid lengthy delays in essential home adaptations.

Answer:

The Housing Executive is trialling an accelerated process for delivering adaptation provision for exceptional, time-critical cases. This forms part of the review of NIHE-Administered Private Sector Grants led by my Department. The findings from this review will inform policy proposals which I intend to bring forward for public consultation shortly.
