Question:
To ask the Minister of Health whether his Department has had any engagement with suicide prevention charities and organisations following the November 2025 publication of the NISRA Suicide Statistics 2024 report.

Answer:

The 2024 statistics were discussed at the Protect Life 2 Steering Group chaired by the Chief Medical Officer at its meeting on 4 December which is attended by a range of suicide prevention Community and Voluntary Group representatives.

The Chief Medical Officer also wrote to the Steering Group and all local Protect Life Implementation Groups regarding the statistics on the day the Report issued.
