Question: To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail why the Department's Track a Fault online reporting portal has updated reference numbers with, defects superseded by new enquiries, across the Southern Division.
Answer:
The online system for reporting faults, was first introduced by my Department in 2015 and can be used through the NI Direct website. Members of the public and elected representatives seeking to report an issue can also do so by telephoning our contact centre where faults will be logged on their behalf. A unique reference number is provided and can be used to access updates to the report. Any findings as a result of investigations undertaken by my officials are also recorded against the unique identifier. Those meeting the department’s limited service policy will be added to a works programme for repair. My Department is not aware of any issues with the creation of the unique identifiers, however if the Member has specific detail that can be provided my officials would be happy to look into the matter further.
