Question:
To ask the Assembly Commission to detail any plans in place to improve soundproofing around the Members' Dining Room, to ensure those attending meetings in Room 115 can properly hear proceedings.

Answer:

The Assembly Commission recognises the importance of ensuring that Members and others attending meetings in Room 115 are able to hear proceedings clearly, and understands the concerns that have been raised.
The building’s Grade A listed status places significant constraints on the type of alterations that can be made, which greatly limits the scope for further soundproofing, however the Assembly Commission will explore practical, non-intrusive ways to minimise noise disruption between the Members’ Dining Room and Room 115.
