Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether he has written to any UK Government (i) Ministers; or (ii) Departments, regarding concerns about online safety of children and young people, in the 2022- 27 Assembly mandate.

Answer:

While I have not written to other UK Government Ministers or Departments regarding this, during my formal engagements with other Ministers we have discussed digital literacy, AI and the importance of effective regulation for its safe use.

My officials continue to work closely with colleagues and key stakeholders, across Northern Ireland departments, to ensure delivery of the objectives set out in the Northern Ireland Executive’s cross-departmental Online Safety Strategy Action Plan 2025-27.
