To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail any assessment her Department has undertaken of the potential environmental and public health benefits of domestic solar energy generation.

Answer:

Individual project proposals for domestic solar energy generation are subject to planning authority approvals, including the completion of any relevant environmental and public health impact assessments as appropriate.

My Department keeps the wider impacts of energy technologies under review as part of ongoing policy development. Any future policy on domestic solar energy generation will include the completion of all statutory impact assessments.
