Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail any action her Department will take, following the flooding caused by Strom Chandra at the entrance to Bridge Road from Lany Road, close to Meadow Bridge Primary School, Hillsborough.

Answer:

Storm Chandra brought high winds and significant levels of rainfall in a relatively short period of time, resulting in a number of incidents of flooding across our road network including the Hillsborough area at the location mentioned.

Given the extent of the disruption across the road network, it will take time for staff to undertake investigatory work in relation to the flooding as we prioritise work to clear water and debris from our road network.

My officials will consider the cause of the flooding and identify if any remedial works can be undertaken to alleviate this problem in the future.
