Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail any process used for the review of eligibility criteria for transport assistance, proposed in his written statement on a Five-Year Education Budget Strategy.

Answer:

At this stage, the reforms outlined in the five-year education budget strategy remain consultation proposals. The reforms will be finalised once the budget position is confirmed, taking account of the outcome of the public consultation. Formal governance structures, overseen by the Permanent Secretary, will ensure robust oversight as the reform programme develops.

Individual reform projects will be taken forward in key areas with any reviews focussed on supporting evidence-based policy decisions to ensure that vital services remain fit for purpose, sustainable and meet the needs of pupils and families.
