To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail (i) the number of applications to; and (ii) the total successful amount issued from, the DFI Claims Unit, in the North Down area, for each year, since 2023.

I would ask the member to be aware of the caveats relating to the information provided in the tables.

Table 3 provides details of roads related public liability claims received in each of the last five full financial years, broken down by Section Office and claim type. Table 7 provides details of claim expenditure for the last five full financial years broken down by Section Office, claim type and expenditure type. Please note Section Offices broadly align with Council areas. The North Down area is covered by Ards and North Down Borough Council. This council area is covered by Ards and North Down Section Office.

Claim figures have been extracted from DfI's Claims Management System, whereas the financial data has been extracted from the NICS accounting system, Account NI. Please note that claims received in a financial year are not always concluded in the same financial year. Therefore, the compensation figure for concluded claims for a given financial year will usually include claims that were received in prior financial years.
