Question: To ask the Minister for Communities to detail (i) any steps he will take to ensure the Warm Healthy Homes Fund will prioritise older people with cold-related health risks; and (ii) whether grants will support a whole-house approach incorporating (a) insulation; (b) heating upgrades; and (c) ventilation improvements.
Answer:
As part of the Warm Healthy Homes Strategy consultation, views were sought on the policy for the Warm Healthy Homes Fund. There was widespread agreement that the fund prioritises low-income and vulnerable households living in the poorest-performing properties and that a whole house approach should be taken. The Warm Healthy Homes Fund will offer a package of measures such as insulation, draught proofing and ventilation, alongside heating systems incorporating low-carbon heat solutions and renewable technologies. The final scheme design will be shaped by further public consultation which will be published shortly.
