Question:
To ask the Minister of Health for an update on the development of the Woman's Health Action Plan.

Answer:

I plan to publish the Women's Health Action Plan following completion of the public listening exercise. My Department has helped to fund this important project by Derry Well Women and Queen’s University Belfast who have now completed a women’s health survey and focus groups with harder to reach women. There will be a further round of engagement in partnership with stakeholders and representative organisations during February to share the findings and to identify the priorities and recommendations which will inform the final report to my Department.

The Plan when published will describe the wide range of policy and service developments supporting women's health, what has been achieved to date and what is achievable in the years ahead within current resources. In addition to delivering against the set of actions, the Plan aims to encourage positive dialogue around women’s health and wellbeing within our health and social care system and in our society.
