Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on the legislation to prohibit the overtaking of school buses while they are stopped to drop-off or pick-up passengers.

Answer:

I have established a Safer Journeys to School Programme within the Department to examine options to improve safety for school journeys, including legislative options. This work is evidence-led to ensure interventions are effective and proportionate.

The Department remains committed to improving road safety and will continue to engage with stakeholders to deliver the most effective measures.
