To ask the Minister of Education to detail any actions he has taken to ensure that all schools are aware of the 2010 publication Guidelines for Management of Anaphylaxis in Educational Establishments.

Answer:

The 2010 Guidelines for Management of Anaphylaxis in Educational Establishments was superseded by Department of Health Guidance on the use of adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs) in schools in Northern Ireland, updated October 2018. This addendum is designed to be read in conjunction with Supporting Pupils with Medication Needs (2008) guidance and every school’s protocol or policy on use of the AAI should have regard to it.
