Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail any plans in place to develop an adult safeguarding policy within his Department.

Answer:

Officials are developing a refreshed and strengthened ‘Safeguarding in Education Guidance’ document, and it is intended that this will set out clear expectations for adult safeguarding in education.

The Education Authority are also undertaking operational policy development in respect of adult safeguarding and officials will continue to engage with officers in respect of the outworkings of how schools are supported to implement this.
