To ask the Minister for the Economy whether she has had any discussions with the Student Loans Company, in relation to reducing the interest rates on student loan repayments, within the last 12 months.

Answer:

The Student Loans Company has no role in setting the interest rates applied to student loans. Borrowers from here are treated as “Plan 1” borrowers, this plan type also has borrowers from England, Scotland and Wales, the terms and conditions of this plan type are therefore not a devolved matter.
