Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail any consideration his Department has given to ensuring that housing policy for older people applies coherently across all tenures, including the private rented sector.

Answer:

The Executive Housing Supply Strategy which I published in 2024 recognises the changing age profile of our population and includes a long-term policy commitment to support the delivery of a more diverse range of housing options across all tenures, which meet housing needs and takes into account demographic change.

Implementation of the Strategy, through a series of short-term action plans, will therefore consider actions to increase housing supply and provide a range of housing solutions to meet all needs, including those of older people.
