Question:
To ask the Minister of Health, pursuant to AQW 31462/22-27, for an update on when the review of delegated nursing tasks in relation to direct payment carers will be published.

Answer:

My Department commissioned the Northern Ireland Practice and Education Council for Nursing and Midwifery (NIPEC) to lead a review of the delegation of healthcare tasks, with the aim of gaining a comprehensive understanding of current practices and identifying viable pathways for safe and effective delegation in line with existing guidelines and legislation.

Given the complexity of the issues involved, the review has taken time to progress through the necessary stages of evidence gathering, stakeholder input, and professional scrutiny. The work is now at an advanced stage and is expected to be finalised shortly.
