To ask the Minister of Health to detail the total expenditure for the installation and implementation of the encompass project.

Answer:

The total expenditure for the installation and implementation phase of encompass to March 2026 is £343.6m capital and £56.2m revenue.

Significant spend on updating our systems was unavoidable with legacy systems coming to the end of their lifespan.

The world’s best healthcare providers all have an electronic health record at their centre. We want the best for our population, and, in today’s world, that requires world-class systems based around patients and clinicians.

Investment in encompass reflects the scale and complexity of replacing regionwide core clinical and social care systems, which are critical to daytoday service delivery across hospitals, community services and social care.
