Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether her Department provides guidance to multi-storey car park providers, regarding (i) electric vehicle safety; and (ii) the installation of electric vehicle charging points.

Answer:

The provision and operation of EV charging infrastructure is a commercially led activity in the North. Responsibility for the maintenance, development and utilisation of charge points rests solely with the Charge Point Operators (CPOs). Relevant CPOs are best placed to advise on guidance in relation to petrol and diesel station forecourts.

Multi storey car parks must comply with building regulations, which are governed by the Department of Finance.
