Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to detail any plans in relation to turning forest land to bog land.

Answer:

The Climate Action Plan includes taking forward restoration of degraded peatlands on the Forest Service estate. In the current budget period (2023-2027), 381 hectares of afforested land and 1,007 hectares of degraded peatlands have been scheduled for restoration of which 103 hectares and 587 hectares respectively has been commissioned.
